The I love arron'z Show

I asked a week ago on Artforum's talkback, posting as thingsthatgo, if anyone was interested in sending me a .jpeg, of some work, or a snapshot--of anything, just as long as it was a tell-tail to identity. I was hoping for something to inspire a clue.

I didn't get volumes of response, except what did come through was kind of cool. Jareth, formerly heavenly body avatar all i got was this lousy, and whose real name is probably Erin, sent a few pics. A couple of friends of Erin, Zip and Heartland that also post at talkback, sent something too.
Anyway, the deal was if I got an address in the mail I would mail a small gift back by way of a thanks. Jareth, or Erin, sent her address and was sent a gift--a couple of metallic looking templates.

Erin also made mention that she and zip were planning this one night live extravaganza "WRECKED EM"-YOUR FUCKED, which would comprise sound, DJs, video, maybe a gallery space cum-lauder, with the over aching theme 'just as many good friends together as possible... a good...nice free party with great music'.

Since then it has been touch and go whether the event will even make it 'live'. What Erin and Aaron ( zip) have found out is you need a bazillion permits to even fart outside your own door in NY, especially when the intention is to inform the public first. Erin sends me updates. There are mood swings--the psychological kickback, the doubts and elations of planning an event—these are obvious. One mail I get smacks of climbing tall buildings. Then another comes out of the in-box tumbling, tumbling, down—followed, once more, by Spiderman 2.

I love Lucy kept coming to mind--for reason I haven't dug too deep. I thought whatever the outcome at least here will be an 'I love arron'z Show', hopefully with images and words from the crew--something from the real to the virtual, who knows!
A mail from Erin on the 23rd, Friday evening NY time, has Brooklyn under heavy siege, rain and flood, which again just pulls that much more 'will' in to sponge out the damp. When it does come together, well, you'll find the details here. There will also be post-event news and pics--stay tuned. Wish 'Good Luck' and More Later.
