‘Six’ represents a series of six minimal works.
Each piece offers the same simple shape, a uniquely positioned line, and
either a blue/green or vanilla colored surface.
Each line comes about in much the same way. I start out very simple, spend a
lot of time in a physical space and navigate that space via the synthetic--a
board with edges and surface, to eventually register a line the equates with
a bodily sense of space.
For me the resultant experience of SIX is quite startling even when viewed
in my small studio. While each piece holds a similar eddying line, the
differences become even more obvious than initially envisaged, especially
when considering that the differences all are, physically, extremely slight.
