This work was made as part of a suite of preparatory drawings which I began during the Summer of 2007. In these new works my lines flow and loop around a framework of circles. The marks amass to create an image, which is both still and moving, both pointing towards perfection and also wholly imperfect. My practice is grounded in the slowing down of time and the stillness that I find when I work. My subject is the moment, and in the finished works the subject becomes the thousands of moments that add up to create the images. I have a sense as I work that perhaps a dazzling or compelling visual effect might be generated, but I am never sure. In this way I embrace uncertainty.
My hope is that my focus and quiet reveal themselves in the final drawing. linn meyers Fall 2007
