touch

sweet oblivion, aluminum power on wall, variable dimensions, 2008

Touch involves the meeting of surfaces.  Action and surface.  Regardless of the surface, regardless of the nature of the action, these are the essential components.  So I have chosen to send a material with millions of microscopic surfaces, aluminum powder, to Tokyo where it will be lightly pressed against the gallery wall.  This gentle action will produce an ethereal temporary drawing that is both a visual work and a physical record of the very specific touch that creates it. lynne harlow 2008
